About the role
Operations Lead
Supersonik | Barcelona (on-site)
This is not a traditional operations role. There is no playbook, no established team to slot into, no clean scope. You will be the right hand to the person running ops, legal, compliance, finance coordination, and everything cross-functional at an AI startup selling to enterprise clients. If that sounds chaotic, it is. If that sounds exciting, keep reading.
What you'll actually do
No two weeks will look the same. Here is a real sample of the work:
Redline a contract amendment with tiered pricing, overage clauses, and a DPA annex, then prepare the negotiation strategy for a call the next morning
Build a pricing strategy deck with breakeven analysis for a new product tier, ready for the CEO to present to investors
Design and implement CRM automations under real technical constraints (license limits, flow ceilings), not in theory but in production
Diagnose why a vendor enrollment has failed six times, tracing the root cause across email threads, portal documentation, and support tickets
Prepare CEO-level talking points for a salary negotiation, backed by market data you pulled and structured yourself
Manage a SOC 2 Type II audit end to end: correct inaccurate system descriptions, organize evidence, coordinate with the audit firm, and make sure nothing slips
Design onboarding processes and training materials for the client-facing team, from scratch, when none exist
Coordinate a PR campaign with an enterprise partner, managing timelines, approvals, and deliverables across both organizations
You will also handle recruiting support, data analysis, AI tool integration, and whatever else lands on the desk. The common thread: things that need an owner and don't have one.
What we're looking for
We care about the person, not the label. That said, certain backgrounds tend to produce the kind of person who thrives here:
High-pressure, high-ambiguity environments: MBB consulting, investment banking, early-stage startups (Series A through C where one person wore five hats)
Intensity: Extreme context-switching ability: You will move between legal, finance, ops, tech, and commercial work in the same day. Sometimes in the same hour
AI-native: You already use AI tools daily to multiply your output. You have opinions about which models are good at what. This is not negotiable at an AI company
Languages: English is required. Spanish and/or Italian is a meaningful plus
Work ethic: This team works hard. 70-hour weeks are not uncommon during peak periods. We are honest about that upfront because it is not for everyone
Relentless learning: You will constantly encounter domains you know nothing about. The expectation is that you figure it out, fast, and to a high standard
What we're NOT looking for
People who need structure handed to them. If you wait for someone to define your priorities, this will not work
People who delegate problems upward instead of solving them
People who optimize for titles or territory
People who treat "that's not my job" as a valid sentence
People who are comfortable. If you want predictability, a large company will serve you better
