Vulcan Elements is building a team of ambitious professionals committed to Mission Focus, Technical Excellence and Transparency.<br><br>As an Environmental Manager you will establish and lead programs that ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and permits and prepare Vulcan Elements sites for future environmental compliance and stewardship.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop and maintain programs and permits including but not limited to an air permit, stormwater permit, wastewater permit, hazardous materials, chemical exposure monitoring, and sustainability.</li>
<li>Conduct training, investigations, sampling, audits, and compliance reporting required by local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.</li>
<li>Develop a rapport with and be the liaison to regulatory agencies and ensure timely reporting and remediation of issues.</li>
<li>Develop and manage hazardous materials program as it relates to waste management, disposal, recycling, and any regulatory requirements.</li>
<li>Implement spill response procedures and ensure proper storage and labeling of all containers.</li>
<li>Investigate and document permit exceedances and ensure effective corrective actions.</li>
<li>Maintain and update all SDSs related to Vulcan Elements facilities.</li>
<li>Establish and track KPIs and metrics while monitoring trends and driving continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Implement and manage a program related to green initiatives and sustainability.</li>
<li>Monitor workplace environments ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.</li>
<li>Ensure attainment and maintenance of ISO 14001 certification.</li>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, environmental engineering, or a relevant field</li>
<li>At least 4 years in environmental management for a manufacturing facility</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements for stormwater, air, hazardous materials management and wastewater</li>
<li>SDS creation and system management</li>
<li>Experience with ISO 14001</li>
<li>Experience with green initiatives</li>
<li>Excellent communication and training skills</li>
<li>Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Familiarity with emergency response and crisis management</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively</li>
<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications</li>
</ul>
